1. Log in to Instagram
Instagram is a popular social media platform that allows you to share photos and videos with your friends. But if you no longer want to use the service, you can delete your account.
To delete your account, you’ll need to go to the Instagram website. Once there, you’ll be prompted to choose a reason for deleting your account.
Once you’ve chosen a reason, you’ll need to enter your password again. Depending on the reason you chose, Instagram may send you an email or SMS with a password reset link.
Before you delete your Instagram account, it’s a good idea to back up any photos and videos you don’t want to lose. To do this, log in to your account via a web browser and click “Settings” (the gear icon) on your profile page.
2. Go to your profile page
Instagram has a variety of ways to help you manage your time on the platform. It lets you set reminders for taking breaks, deactivate your account temporarily, and even permanently delete your account if it’s no longer serving you.
When you decide it’s time to take a break from Instagram, it can be a bit tricky to know what to do next. Sometimes, you may want to deactivate your account so that you can reactivate it in the future, or you might be deleting your account for other reasons, like a change of mind about your social media presence.
To delete your Instagram account, go to your profile page and click on the settings button (the gears icon). Select “Privacy & Security,” then “Request Download.” Input your email address, and you’ll be sent a downloadable file with all your data within 48 hours.
Once you delete your account, you won’t be able to access it again, and any information associated with it won’t be available to the public. But, if you log back in with your username and password within 30 days of deletion, you can reverse it and reactivate your account.
3. Click on the settings button
If you want to delete your Instagram account, you can do so easily using the app or on the website. The process is easy, and works for both iPhone and Android users.
Deactivating your account is another option if you think you'll want to use it again in the future. This hides your Instagram profile from public view and allows you to reactivate it later.
To deactivate your account, you'll need to click on the settings button and then go to the Delete Your Account page. After that, choose a reason for your account deletion and enter your password.
When you delete your account, Instagram will send you a downloadable file of all the data on it. You won't be able to access that information again until 30 days have passed.
4. Select the delete button
Whether you're thinking of deleting your Instagram account for good or you're just feeling overwhelmed by all the posts and comments, there are some steps you can take to temporarily disable your account. This will hide your profile and content from Instagram until you decide to reactivate it by logging back in again.
Once you've chosen the temporary disable option, you'll be prompted to select a reason why you're disabling your account and then re-enter your password. You can then click on the blue "Temporarily disable" button and all of your photos, posts, and followers will be hidden until you decide to reactivate it again by logging in.
Before you decide to permanently delete your Instagram account, make sure you download all of your data. That way, you can be confident that you'll be able to retrieve anything that might be of value to you in the future.
